- 4 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired. Enjoy!
Blueberry Cobbler, a classic American dessert, has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. This delectable treat is believed to have originated in the Southern United States, where it quickly became a beloved staple at family gatherings and community events. The combination of sweet, juicy blueberries and a buttery, biscuit-like topping creates a mouthwatering symphony of flavors. Adding a hint of lemon zest to the filling brings a refreshing citrusy twist to the cobbler, elevating its taste to new heights. Renowned chefs and restaurants across the South, such as The Lady and Sons in Savannah, Georgia, have perfected the art of crafting the perfect Blueberry Cobbler. The key to an exceptional Blueberry Cobbler lies in using fresh, ripe blueberries and balancing the sweetness with a touch of tartness from the lemon zest. For a unique twist, some chefs incorporate a crumbly streusel topping or serve the cobbler with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Today, the best versions of this delightful dessert can be savored in charming Southern eateries and bakeries, where the aroma of freshly baked cobblers fills the air, inviting patrons to indulge in a slice of tradition with a hint of lemony zest.
