Spicy BBQ Brisket
Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 (5-6 pound) beef brisket
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 tablespoon paprika, 1 tablespoon cumin, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon salt, 1 tablespoon black pepper, and 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper to create the spicy rub.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the beef brisket, covering all sides. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
- Preheat the grill or smoker to 250°F, using hickory or mesquite wood for added flavor.
- Place the brisket on the grill and cook for 6-7 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F, adding wood chips as needed to maintain smoke.
- Once the brisket is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing against the grain.
- In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of beef broth and 1 cup of BBQ sauce over medium heat until warmed through.
- Slice the brisket and serve with the warm BBQ sauce on the side. Enjoy!
