Barbecue ribs have a rich history dating back to indigenous cooking methods in the Americas. The dish gained popularity in the Southern United States, particularly in regions like Memphis, Kansas City, and Texas, where pitmasters honed their craft. These succulent ribs are typically seasoned with a dry rub or marinated in a tangy barbecue sauce, then slow-cooked to tender perfection over smoky hardwoods like hickory or mesquite. Today, renowned establishments like the Rendezvous in Memphis and Franklin Barbecue in Austin are celebrated for their mouthwatering ribs. Achieving the perfect balance of smoky flavor, tender meat, and caramelized sauce is essential for an unforgettable barbecue rib experience.
