Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground beef, 1 chopped onion, and 1 minced clove of garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can of tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked macaroni, followed by half of the meat mixture, and half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat the layers.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
