Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 slices of bacon
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, mix 1/2 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder.
- Dredge the chicken breasts in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
- In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Increase the heat to medium-high.

- Pour in 1 cup of Marsala wine and 1/2 cup of chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Return the cooked chicken breasts and bacon to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened and the chicken is heated through.
