Dessert
Mexican

Arroz con leche, also known as rice pudding, is a traditional dessert with roots in Spain. This creamy and comforting dish has spread across Latin America and the Caribbean, each region adding its own unique twist. The history of arroz con leche dates back to the Moorish occupation of Spain, where rice and sugar were introduced. Over time, the dish evolved with the addition of local ingredients like cinnamon, vanilla, and condensed milk. In Mexico, renowned chefs like Pati Jinich and Enrique Olvera have put their modern spin on this classic dessert. For the best arroz con leche, look for a recipe that highlights the perfect balance of creamy rice, aromatic spices, and a hint of sweetness. Whether it's served warm or chilled, arroz con leche continues to be a beloved treat for families and communities, bringing joy with every spoonful.
