Ingredients
- 16 oz elbow macaroni
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until smooth and bubbly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the top with paprika for color.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown on top.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
