Almond Tart

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract
- 1/2 cup of almond flour
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a food processor, combine 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of cold unsalted butter pieces, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork.
- Bake the crust for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of almond flour and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar. Stir in 1/4 cup of heavy cream and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the almond filling evenly over the cooled crust. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of sliced almonds on top.
- Bake the tart for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the almonds are golden brown.
- Allow the tart to cool before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
