Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of red food coloring
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 and 1/2 cups of flour, 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 2 eggs, one at a time, then stir in 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of red food coloring. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Place 1/2 cup of powdered sugar in a small bowl. Using a cookie scoop, form the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the powdered sugar until coated. Place the coated balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy these delicious red velvet crinkle cookies!
