Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of pure vanilla extract, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  • Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, or until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  • Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container, cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface of the ice cream, and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  • Scoop and serve the homemade vanilla ice cream, and enjoy!
