Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of white sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the remaining 3 1/2 cups of cold water, and the cooled sugar syrup. Stir well to combine.
  • Add the thinly sliced fresh ginger to the pitcher and stir. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse.
  • Once the lemonade has infused, remove the ginger slices from the pitcher. Stir in the sparkling water.
