Instructions

  • In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in 1 large egg and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into three equal parts. Tint one part with purple food coloring, one part with blue food coloring, and leave the third part uncolored.
  • Take a small piece from each colored dough and gently press them together to form a ball with swirls of color. Place the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Gently flatten the dough balls with the bottom of a glass and sprinkle with edible silver or gold star sprinkles.
