  • 1 pound of large shrimp
  • 1 pound of smoked sausage, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • 1 head of garlic, halved
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 6 small red potatoes
  • 6 ears of corn, halved
  • 2 pounds of large crab legs
  • 1 pound of large shrimp
  • 1 pound of smoked sausage, sliced

Instructions

  • In a large stockpot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil.
  • Add 1/2 cup of Old Bay seasoning and 2 tablespoons of salt to the boiling water.
  • Squeeze the juice from the halved lemons into the pot, then add the lemon halves, garlic, and onions.
  • Add the potatoes and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Add the corn and boil for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Add the crab legs, shrimp, and smoked sausage to the pot and boil for 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
  • Once cooked, drain the seafood and vegetables from the pot and transfer to a large serving platter.
  • Serve the Southern crab boil with melted butter, cocktail sauce, and extra Old Bay seasoning on the side.
