Ingredients
- 4 quarts water
- 1/2 cup Old Bay seasoning
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 lemons, halved
- 1 head of garlic, halved
- 2 onions, quartered
- 6 small red potatoes
- 6 ears of corn, halved
- 2 pounds of large crab legs
- 1 pound of large shrimp
- 1 pound of smoked sausage, sliced
Instructions
- In a large stockpot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil.
- Add 1/2 cup of Old Bay seasoning and 2 tablespoons of salt to the boiling water.
- Squeeze the juice from the halved lemons into the pot, then add the lemon halves, garlic, and onions.
- Add the potatoes and boil for 10 minutes.
- Add the corn and boil for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add the crab legs, shrimp, and smoked sausage to the pot and boil for 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
- Once cooked, drain the seafood and vegetables from the pot and transfer to a large serving platter.
- Serve the Southern crab boil with melted butter, cocktail sauce, and extra Old Bay seasoning on the side.
