Condensed Milk Brownies

Created by: Howcan Team

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar and stir until well combined.
  • Add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, and mix until smooth.
  • Sift in 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Drizzle 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk over the batter. Carefully spread the remaining batter on top of the condensed milk layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before using the parchment paper overhang to lift them out. Cut into squares and serve.
Dessert
American

Condensed milk brownies have a rich history dating back to the late 19th century when condensed milk was first introduced as a convenient and long-lasting dairy product. The sweet, fudgy treat gained popularity in the United States and quickly became a beloved dessert for its simplicity and delicious flavor. Renowned chefs and home bakers alike have put their own spin on the classic recipe, incorporating premium chocolate, nuts, and even a hint of espresso for an extra kick. Today, the best version of this indulgent dessert can be found in artisanal bakeries and specialty dessert shops, where the perfect balance of condensed milk, chocolate, and butter creates a decadent and irresistible brownie. Whether you're a fan of the traditional recipe or looking to experiment with alternative methods, the key to achieving the perfect condensed milk brownie lies in the quality of ingredients and precise baking techniques.
