Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 3/4 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix until well combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of white sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon.
- Shape the dough into 1-inch balls, and roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place the coated dough balls 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
