Classic Beef Burger

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 slices of tomato
- 4 slices of red onion
- 4 pickle slices
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, mix 1 lb of ground beef with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading 1 tablespoon of ketchup and 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, a red onion slice, and a pickle slice on top of the sauce. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese and cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the burgers immediately and enjoy!
