Created by: Howcan Team
Ingredients
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 and 1/2 cups of light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of melted butter, 1 and 1/2 cups of light brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares and serving.
Blondies are a delectable dessert bar similar to brownies, but with a rich, buttery, vanilla flavor. Believed to have originated in the United States in the 19th century, these sweet treats have become a beloved classic in American baking. The exact origins of the blondie are unclear, but they gained popularity in the 1950s and have since become a staple in bakeries and home kitchens across the country. Chefs and home bakers often add their own unique twists to the recipe, incorporating ingredients like chocolate chips, nuts, or butterscotch for added flavor and texture. For the best blondies, look for a recipe that balances a chewy texture with a buttery, caramelized flavor. Some famous alternative methods for making this dish include adding in different types of nuts or using alternative sweeteners for a unique twist. If you're looking to try the best version of this dish, head to renowned bakeries in regions like New York City or the Midwest, where you're sure to find expertly crafted blondies that will satisfy your sweet tooth.
