Ingredients
- 8 slices of rye bread
- 1/2 pound of thinly sliced pastrami
- 1 cup of sauerkraut, drained
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup of Russian dressing
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of Russian dressing on each slice of rye bread.
- Layer 4 slices of bread with pastrami, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread, dressing side down.
- Spread the top of each sandwich with 1 tablespoon of softened butter.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet, buttered side down. Spread the remaining butter on the top of the sandwiches.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and slice each sandwich in half diagonally.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
