Ingredients
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup of cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 12 ounces of white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Bake the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box. Let it cool completely.
- In a large bowl, crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs.
- Add the softened butter, cream cheese, peppermint extract, and powdered sugar to the bowl with the cake crumbs. Mix until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up the cake balls.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip each cake ball into the melted white chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off, then place them back on the parchment paper.
- Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the top of each cake ball before the white chocolate sets.
- Refrigerate the cake balls for at least 30 minutes to allow the white chocolate to set completely.
