Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
- 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Peel the bananas and slice them in half lengthwise.
- In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the cut side of the bananas.
- Place the bananas on the grill, cut side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes, until grill marks appear.
- Carefully flip the bananas and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the bananas are softened.
- While the bananas are grilling, prepare the chocolate sauce by combining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- To assemble the banana splits, place two grilled banana halves in a bowl or on a plate.
- Top each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the ice cream and bananas.
- Sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired, and add a dollop of whipped cream on top.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
