Instructions

- Beat in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well blended.
- Combine 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt; gradually blend into the creamed mixture.
- Mix in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are golden. Do not overbake.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
